Ryan Hatfield

Ryan Hatfield hails from a hunting and outdoor family that has roots in western Idaho that date back to 1869. Exploring new territory and traversing familiar trails is what he lives for. He finds great inspiration in Idaho’s limitless beauty, rugged and diverse landscape, and storied history.

When not working, writing books, exploring the outdoors, or coaching kids’ sports, Ryan competes in professional lumberjack sports.

He has been on the U.S. National team multiple times, hold several world records in hand-sawing, and has competed in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Ryan and his wife, Kylee, have three children – Owen, Wyatt, and Rylee. They are being raised to appreciate the tough struggle that sports can teach and to love and appreciate wildlife and wild places.
